We had a great week celebrating Natalie's second birthday. It started with Mom and Dad Bowman bringing the boys home last Sunday after a weekend away at their house. Natalie opened her presents from them and we had brownies and ice cream. We practiced singing "Happy Birthday" all week, and by her birthday(Friday, 24th)she was singing it to herself and then blowing after she finished her version of the song. Friday we had a busy morning. We started the morning off with her number 2 pancake, a Huebner tradition. We had her pictures done at Sears, and since they are going to be in Aunt Megan's wedding in less then 2 weeks now, we had all three of them in their wedding attire for a picture too. After spending an hour and a half at Sears, Natalie was not cooperative for pictures, we went to McDonald's for lunch, the kids favorite place to eat and then play. After that we went to Meijer's to get birthday balloons, birthday donuts, and ice cream for later. By then it was 2 and we went home for much needed naps. Later that night I made Natalie's favorite dinner, Ground Beef Stroganoff, and she ate it while saying, "MMMMM!!" We finally had her Dora Cake, ice cream, and she opened her presents. I make the cakes and frost them, and Phil shows off his artistic skills and decorates them. Since Natalie loves Dora, Phil drew Dora's face on her cake this year.
We ended the night with talking to Ryan, Aimee, and the kids on Skype, and that's always fun with the kids making faces at each other, biting fingers(you'd have to be there), and showing off a favorite toy or two.
This past Sunday we had my mom and her husband Dale over for dinner after church and we had more birthday for Natalie. We ate more cake and ice cream, sang "Happy Birthday" again, and she received more presents. So, a whole week spent on celebrating Natalie. We had a lot of fun!
Well, enjoy the pictures of Natalie's second birthday. Love you all!
